About Kathleen Arleth
After initially working in a variety of mediums, Kathleen Arleth found her connection to the media of watercolor, painting landscapes, streetscapes and waterscapes of places near and far.
Kathleen travels with her watercolors, capturing the intimacy and particular features of cities, country sides and villages. Her paintings emerge from the reality of the scene to the impression on the paper. “When someone views my work, I would like the person to feel a connection to the setting and to experience that same sense of place that is offered in the painting”.
In addition to watercolors, the Kathleen has produced her Somers Point Series in pen and ink that includes the historic and iconic sites – taverns, bayside restaurants and historic sites. The artist has also produced her Café Series that reflects the intimacy of the cafes and coffee shops in local locations, in the US and in European cities.
Kathleen has received several awards, including 1st place in Professional Watercolor category in the Atlantic County Senior Art Shows in 2013 (Blueberry Tearoom) and 2023 (Winter Walk in Olde City), which were exhibited at the state level.
