Charles Lounsberry
Originally from Buck’s County, Pennsylvania, Charles grew up in Ocean City, NJ and began painting and drawing scenes of Ocean City and Somers Point, NJ in 1985. The first painting that Charles sold was of Dot’s Bakery, located at 31st and Asbury Avenue. Since then, Charles has created a line of prints from his original paintings that have become very popular. He is probably best known for his image titled, “Out All Night!,” that features the famous old bars of Somers Point, New Jersey including; Bay Shores, Tony Marts, The Anchorage, and The Dunes. Other popular prints include, in Ocean City – Mack & Mancos, Bob’s Grill, Shrivers, and Lifeguard Boats of the Jersey Shore. Charles works in all mediums including oil, acrylic, and colored pencil, but mainly in watercolor and he has developed his own unique recognizable style of painting that combines photographs and watercolor. He maintains a studio in Florida. Charles’ work is represented by Great Bay Gallery in Somers Point, New Jersey.
“Here’s the Point…” 20 x 30” large limited edition of print on canvas by artist Charles Lounsberry. Originally painted as a watercolor in 1990, this limited edition print on canvas depicts those gone but not forgotten Somers Point icons, Bayshores and Tony Marts. The image is signed and numbered by the artist and is printed on archival canvas mounted on heavy one-inch thick stretcher bars.
